Developing and implementing a training program and video production to support
Eugad documentary on Internal Dynamics of Transnational Partnership
Our cultural influences are so deep that we act upon them instinctively - in
everything we do, from the way we stand and talk, to the way we deal with
partners, conflict and decision-making.
These different attitudes and behaviors are more than likely to be conditioned
by culture - values, assumptions and perceptions that are instilled early on in
our life and are expressed in the way we behave and interact.
Ultimately through this scene, I want the audience to feel CURIOS to explore
beyond-own-culture experience and STIMULATED to learn, exchange, accept and to
understand that DIVERSITY is the ultimate ground for progress and development.
History proved it, it is all about building unity and cooperation. All about
acting as partners. As “it will not suffice to set up a bazaar, a market where
people go only to gain economic advantages at others' expense. What is needed is
a community, based upon the pursuit of the common interest, guided by democratic
institutions, and inspired by a firm commitment to integration." (Jose Maria
Gil-Robles, former president of the European Parliament).
Thus, reshaping the European continent as “a common playground for every
national player” appears to be one of the main fundaments on which the concept
of Union itself is built.
(in the background Queen – One Vision)
One heart, one soul, one vision for Europeans with the very purpose of
empowering people through constant sharing of information and experience, of
supporting nations through social, economic, educational and political
assistance, of creating a global mind, enhanced by local and specific attributes
in order to eventually contribute to making the world, the entire world, a
better place for all of us.
But going beyond commercial laws and principles - the one expression that every individual seems to have a better understanding about - identifying that common interest and co-working upon it is far too often a challenging mission. Key management concerns today are related to overcoming cultural differences and communication barriers and issues regarding principles and values as well as capacity and resources. The very challenges that EUGAD partners struggled within their on-going attempt to create, collect and distribute knowledge resources for improving communication and dialogue on the International Cooperation for Development. And those that are being consciously and transparently addressed today by the same partners.
What alternative views, facts or ideas does the audience need to understand?
What evidence will you show to get the audience to see those different truths?
What facts must the audience gather by watching it ?
What is “Earth as a common home” and how are you working on building such home?
(Here we need to have a short collage of images to illustrate the Cooperation
for Development concept and interviews - short answers from the participants
discussing the EUGAD vision and the approached strategy, enhancing the
importance of working as partners)
Collaborating and sharing experiences across borders, whether national, regional or organizational, is an effective way to access new ideas, innovative approaches and new skills. It helps understand what works and what does not, and why.
What worked and what didn't work in building this “sharing experience” and why?
What were the challenges?
(interviews – answers indicating the challenges that we've been struggling with.
Different ideas: distance, language, culture, different perspective, confusion,
management and administration etc.)
Transparency, communication – constant and clear, respect – for deadlines, for
people and their work. Interest, flexibility, an open-mind and an open country
where partners gather to reconnect and share and understand why they decided to
join their efforts. And why they need to stay focused and work their way out to
achieve that one mission.
What other ways to improve our joined effort in a successful collaboration for
development and visible results?
(collage of images and testimonials describing the phases of building a
relationship. Scenes of introduction, scenes at work, discussions, arguments,
laughters, scenes at informal meetings)
