You may want to find a designer

When you begin to design your poster it’s best to keep it simple and focus on your main message. Enlist the help of anyone you know who has an interest in graphic design. The poster may be the first time someone encounters your campaign and you want to make a good impression.

Some of the following ideas may help you get your campaign noticed:

  • Make a visual impact - come up with a style you can repeat
  • Use a headline - catch people's attention
  • Design a logo - you can use this everywhere
  • Use photos if appropriate - but be aware of copyrights
  • Advertise a contact - include an email address, website or phone number so that people can get in touch with you
  • Double-check dates, times and spelling, then check them again
  • Leave space around your text so it is easy to read
For more ideas on effective publicity material take a look at the fuel4arts.com guide on designing your message.

If you have the budget, think about getting them designed professionally. Or contact the art and design depatment of your local college and see if any of their students would be interested in coming up with some designs as a project.
