Required Skills and Competence
- Proven
experience in developing and managing high quality
and innovative development / humanitarian programmes, with a strong
conceptual and analytical awareness of programme quality and practical
implementation challenges faced by field staff and partners
- Excellent
understanding of and commitment to place gender
equality at the heart of aid work
- Mature
understanding of links between knowledge management, learning and
institutional development
- Aptitude
for linking with others, learning and representation
with a clear ability to draw knowledge and ideas from across the sector into
the organisation
- Strong research and data analysis skills,
with concrete knowledge of cutting edge tools and systems in development
programme planning and design, monitoring, evaluation and learning
- Excellent financial and budget management
experience
- Previous experience of working with local
civil society and NGO partners and the ability to
understand different contexts/cultures
- Ability to work effectively with others to
achieve results
- Strong
advisory/facilitation skills and experience in training and coaching teams
and individuals
- Outstanding verbal and written communication
and interpersonal skills essential
- Full written and spoken fluency in English
essential, with knowledge of an additional South Asian language and
advantage
- Good working knowledge of standard software
- Ability to travel extensively
