The scope of this handbook
Managing, Evaluating and Communicating in Development
This handbook has mainly a practical concern as it aims at supporting the tasks of those who work in the development aid sector.
The knowledge resources presented here intend to empower development organizations in:
facilitating the understanding of the various phases of programme cycles and project management, so that internal stakeholders are better prepared to exchange, within timelines, timely the relevant information and to proactively support each other’s tasks;
supporting the design of communication plans on the basis of programmes and project plans, so that all members of the team know in advance what information they need to ask to others, what information they need to supply to others and what are the timelines of these information exchanges;
providing resources for improving individual communication skills and the mastery of communication tools required for implementation of project and programme activities, with special reference to:
promoting better communication amongst NGOs, public institutions, and the civil society,
managing successfully the communication elements of development activities,
involving all stakeholders in development projects,
build the capacity of marginalized sections of society to participate to development processes.
